Designers,
You are the heart and soul of architecture. You take raw ideas and turn them into beautiful, functional spaces that shape the way we live, work, and connect.
Through hundreds of conversations it's become clear to me that Architects haven't gotten a fair deal. You were promised a career of design and creativity but were handed something that doesn’t represent that at all.
Architecture and design are at a crossroads. The old guard has had 25 years to innovate and empower designers and generally speaking they haven't. Feature requests are ignored, user voices take a back seat, and updates feel more like Band-Aids than real progress.
The design challenges of today are evolving—projects are more complex, timelines are tighter, and collaboration is more critical than ever. Designers need a technology partner that evolves with them and doesn't settle for incremental updates.
One of the things I've long said is that design software should be rethought from the ground up. What I believe is more important now than ever is that Designers voices should be the heart of that conversation.
At a recent customer onboarding they told us something that really stuck with us: “It's almost a forgone conclusion that no one in this industry is going to get on a plane and show up, but you guys do. That's what makes you different”
If you're removed from the reality designers face every day — you miss the daily frustrations and you lose a chance to truly understand what users need. A core value we have in building at Arcol is frequenet feedback cycles with diverse representation because building the right project for our industry starts with listening—really listening.
Better tools will help create a better industry and solve long-standing challenges architects have faced. All of this starts with small, honest, and open gatherings where designers can challenge the status quo, share ideas, and push for better.
A promise we will make at Arcol is tolisten first and be a real advocate for you. If you reach out with questions or you have feedback or have a feature request you’ll hear back from us—from a real person. Because this is about more than just building software—this is part of how we promise to stand with designers.
We are betting that designers and the grassroots community around building design will be the catalyst for positive change in our industry. Designers deserve software that works for them, and stands with them. That’s what we’re building. And we’re just getting started.
So to every designer out there: We see you. We’re here for you. And we’re building Arcol for you.
Let’s design the future—together.
